Texas is a crossroads for culture and ethnicity, and the Texas Folklife Festival annually celebrates the area's diversity. You might expect Mexican and Native American cultures to dominate the festival, but surprisingly, a broad representation is present: China, India, Lebanon, Norway, Scotland, Turkey, Ireland, Greece, and the Canary Islands, to name but a few. The wide array of food is a highlight, but crafts, art, and music also help bring the blend of customs and cultures to life. |
